Boycott of Banu Hashim & Shibe Bycott Abhi Talib(616-19)
Passage Summary
Shibee Abee Talib a narrow rock bound area in the outskirts of Mecca which was the Property of prophet uncle Abu Talib . for over three year prophet along with his clan Hashmidees faced Quraysh boycott in term of daily life & trade all necessities of life including food & relationship were denied upon them , only in sacred months Hashmideese were allowed to mingle with fellow Meccan & to do trade , due to this boycoitt prophet clan faced miseries & hardship & reached to the state of starvation & poverty , prophet lost his dear wife Khutaja & loving uncle Abu Talib during this period of hardships at Shibe Abee Talib
the Quraysh were determined to make a resolute effort to check the further growth of Islam. Knowing that the holy prophet was protected by the clan loyalty of Banu Hashim, the heads of all other clans assembled in the ka’ba & resolved to boycott banus hashim, all of them agreed not to inter marry hashmidis and not to sell or trade with them. This agreement was duly written and deposited in the ka’ba , so none of them dare to violate it.
Being thus excommunicated by the majority of the Meccan the hashmid clan including the prophet retired to the narrow rock bound quarter in the outskirt of Mecca which was the property of Abu Talib called Shib-Abu Talib. Only one man of Banu hashim did not join his clan incarceration in the prison like rocky defile who stood loyally by the prophet and their aged chief Abu Talib. For three years all social relations threw his lots with the enemies of Islam and of his family . but believer all other hashmids whether or non believer were cut of from them neither food nor other necessities of life were permitted to them by the implacable Quraysh to reach them. Soon was consumed whatever little they had brought to the shibe abi Talib they men women & children were reduced to the condition of starvation and dire needs. Relived occasionally by a few morsels stealthily brought in by some kind hearted friends or relative among the Quryash .only during the sacred month when all hostility & enmity was suspended were the imprisoned hashmids able to come out & carry human commerce with their country men . but even then the enemies of prophet give him the peace. Whenever prophet addressed message of Islam to the pilgrims assembled at the Mecca at the UKaz fair , Abu Lahab his uncle but his mortal enemy would follow hard on his heels & would shout the people do not believe him he is a lying renegade. His only objective is to draw you away from your gods & jinns to his fancied revelation where: for follow him not neither listen unto him. Seeing his own kinsmen denouncing him the people did not listen him. The result was that during the three year of boycott the progress of Islam was halted in Mecca & around. Nevertheless some quite seeds were sown in the heart of some of the Arabs who listen to the prophet at Mecca or Ukaz.
The Year of Mourning
Summary
The boycott at last ended after 3 years of hunger, imprisonment & social isolation.prophet(sm) lost his most supportive & loving being first his wife khatija & seoncdly his uncle Abu Talib immediately after the end of boycott,so for him the year of release proved to be the year of mourning .
After about three years of excommunication , the hearts of some of the Qurayshites were touched by the hardship & suffering they caused to their own hashmids relatives & kinsmen their hunger stricken faces & the wailing of their starving children could not be seen & heard by all the Meccan. Atlast the initiative to end the boycott was taken by some of Quryash leader who decided to finally end that boycott.
For the prophet however the year of release turned out to be the year of grievous losses & of mourning , the boycott & the incarceration told heavily on the health of the old members of Banu Hashim. First prophet wife Khatija died , she was then 63 year old .she had stood by the prophet through thick & thin. Her death was deeply mourned by him, though he married several other wives but he always cherished loving & revered memories of his first wife & used to say in his later life that when no one believed in his mission , khutaja believed . secondly his kind & supporting uncle Abu Talib also died his death was a sever below to the position of prophet at that juncture , his uncle although never accepted Islam was a staunch & ever loyal defender of prophet.

Passage Summary
Being desperate from obduracy of Meccan , prophet(sm) turned his eyes to the other parts of Arabia to preach Islam, he visited Taif as a result, but faced barborous attack over him in form of stones & hooligans , prophet however prayed Allah mercy upon them when angel came down to destroy this valley.
Ten year passed since he passed message of Islam to Mecca but they remained adamant & hostile to him , the lost of his dear one & the gloom in which he found in consequence of Quraysh hostilities made the holy prophet despair of them & diverted his eyes to other cities of Arabia where he might succeed , with such thoughts he left with his loyal friend Zaid for Taif . but the Thaqifiites of taif turned upon the prophet with barbarous fury .he was driven out of city by a rabbles of slaves & hooligans who hooted & hurled stones on him wounded him cruelly.
The prophet however prayed to God to show mercey to these people , he returned to the Mecca but then lived more or less retired life . he did not preach the message to the Meccan much . his missionary activities were now confined to the Arabian tribes who assembled at the time of pilgrimage . it was on such occasion of in the eleventh year of his mission that a prophet met a little parry of six men from the northern city Yathrib which proved to be a turning point in the history of Islam (HIJRAT E MADINA)
